“Keeping warm while staying green is on a lot of peoples’ minds this winter. […] It looks a little like a Dalek, but this is a giant battery that stores energy as heat. This is one of the first of these unique products to be delivered and installed in a home.” “The heat batteries are being made by a small start-up in Fareham. They describe them as like giant night storage heaters inside a thermos flask. Cheap off-peak renewable electricity is used to heat a central stone core, which then warms water as needed. Its developers have a particular kind of home in mind where other green heating technology won’t work.”
